Position Description: This position is responsible for working with business owners and technical resources to provide support and enhancements in the Warehouse Management area of SSI. Responsibilities include taking a leadership role in defining and implementing business technology enabled business initiatives and implement industry standard best practices for critical business processes. The Business Analyst will perform activities related to requirements gathering, solution design, testing, documentation, and support. The position reports to a Business Technology Director, and may work under various Project Managers, depending on the assignment.
Job Duties:
o Define, develop and implement solutions in coordination with technical resources, business users, third-party support, and other resources.
o Diagnose, troubleshoot, and modify systems to resolve functional issues
o Analyze, interpret and make recommendations in the form of formal proposals and/or presentations to senior leadership
o Perform set ups, configurations, and modifications within the warehouse management systems
o Map and troubleshoot interfaces between Oracle eBusiness Suite and Sterling's nWMS systems
o Provide production support for distributions centers during busy season
Requirements: Skills Required:
o Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 4
years experience in business analysis including hands-on system set ups and configurations.
o Experience working in Sterling's Warehouse Management System or other warehouse management package.
o Experience working in Loftware and ConnectShip systems or other warehouse printing and manifesting packages.
o Ability to understand technical table structures and research data in those structures using tools such as PL/SQL to resolve issues.
o Possess working knowledge of both the user side of as well as the technical side of distribution functions
o Coordinate with business owners and Business Technology professionals on a project basis to deploy new business process improvement projects. This includes working with the representatives from the software providers during the implementation cycle, capture of business requirements, document design of system functions, hands-on system changes to meet functional requirements, unit and functional testing prior to coordinating user acceptance testing with functional business associates.
o Working with software providers on issue resolution.
o Possess the skills to understand user flow, site flow, common usability standards and how the user will interact with business applications.
o Possess the skills to understand information architecture.
o Experience formulating test strategies.
o Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
